Sarah Palin on Charlie Rose

I discovered this video by accident from nearly one year ago. She was interviewed in a segment on women in politics. I've always enjoyed Charlie Rose and his conversational style.

My first impression: Palin is a one hit wonder...15 minutes into the 20 minute conversation she has only talked about energy, oil, pipelines and her son getting ready for Iraq. And she mentions her "first dude" Todd.

Is telling that when asked to give broad strokes about what is crucial to her in her role she never once mentions education, health care, the drug problem or anything having to do with people. She only echoed Janet Napolitano on education after Janet mentioned it 5 times.

My second impression: she is being dismissed by both Charlie and Janet. 18 minutes into it, they seem to listen to her, and then change the subject. She clearly seems out of her element.

When asked about health care her answer "It is such a big issue, Charlie, it isn't one we can even take up on a show like this". At least it was an eloquent dodge. She comes across much younger than her years. Its the accent and her use of idiom. Ya know?!

I found it also odd to note that by my calculations, she was nearly 4 months pregnant at the time of this interview...but shhhh, it was, at the time, still a secret.

It only runs 20 minutes...see what you think.
