Merry Christmas

We intended to head to New York City tonight. See "The Tree" and attend worship at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church where a YDS buddy is now the pastor.

Well, the weather changed our plans for us.

And, as the full orchestra and three choirs opened this evening's worship at The Westside Presbyterian Church nearer to home, it seemed we made the right decision.

The presentation of Once In Royal David's City was like none I'd ever heard, I could barely choke back the tears.

Ministermom had never heard the third and fourth stanzas of that carol...

And, through all his wondrous childhood,
he would honor and obey,
love and watch the lowly maiden
in whose gentle arms he lay:
Christian children all must be
mild, obedient, good as he.

For he is our childhood's pattern,
day by day like us he grew;
he was little, weak and helpless,
tears and smiles like us he knew.
and he feeleth for our sadness,
and he shareth in our gladness.

We didn't get obedience or any form of mild from our cherubs during the rest of the worship...but there was great joy and gladness in various forms. We wish you the same!

Merry Christmas to all!
