I received an email from a gay friend on the night Obama gave his acceptance speech. He was thrilled and proud and relieved to actually hear a future president utter the word 'gay' in a welcoming and inclusive (and nationally televised) manner.
That is exactly the kind of openness that was and is meant by our nation's creed: Out of many, one: E Pluribus Unum.
Obama's truly open and affirming mindset is easily supported by his faith which is easily supported by The United Church of Christ.
No matter where you are on life's journey, you are welcome.
I mean everyone...yeah, you too.
