Beginning To Sink In

The reality of Tuesday is on the verge of sinking in. Today in church the power Anthem, The Last Words of David by Randall Thompson was sung. The key phrase being:

"He that ruleth over all must be just, ruling in the fear of God."

The music minister selected this piece because she realized that the history of a people whose very survival came from their focus on a future and a better life with God is recorded in their music. And, she concluded, the future of our country most certainly depends on that text from 2 Samuel.

Indeed, he who rules over the land must aspire toward justice...always.
